Islamic Theology Department to Open in Russia

(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Department of Islamic Theology will be launched at Ural State University by the Islamic University of Russia. The opening ceremony of the department was held at the Royal Hall of the university aiming to provide an opportunity for the Muslim preachers to discuss Islamic issues.  The participants investigated various themes such as “religious and spiritual education and training of the youth and the role of religious leaders in this respect” and “government and religion, together or separate”.  Nikolay Kosaryev, president of Ural State University, Rinat Sadriev, special representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Sverdlovsk Province and Ravil Mamliev, Mufti of the region and head of the Office for Muslims Affairs in the province presented speeches at the program.  It was concluded following the agreement signed by the officials of the two universities on paving the way for training of Muslim preachers./129
